Identity in the World

When you are connected to God, you experience creativity, meaning, purpose, passion, intuition, and clarity. What happens to these experiences when you are upset?

When your identity is based on your inner Truth (God), the things of the world cannot affect it. When you are upset where are you basing your identity?

Write an example of when you had a practical problem (a real problem in the world) but you were not upset.

Write an example of a time when you were upset (spiritual sickness) but there was no real practical problem.

When you are upset, do you find yourself thinking more, trying harder, while at the same time getting less results but feeling more insecurity and resentment? Write an example.

When you are upset, do you experience less clarity and intuition? If clarity and intuition come from God, do upsets disconnect you from God?

Are upsets a spiritual problem or a practical problem?

Write an example of an upset that had a reason that you thought was based on the situation and then the upset was resolved but the situation didn’t change.

Are the many reasons for your upsets valid or are they justifications that, on closer inspection, actually make no sense. Look at the feelings of upset. Can something in the world really cause that feeling? Do feelings make sense?

If an upset is an unresolved spiritual sickness, that can’t be solved in the world, then when you are upset at someone are you attacking them with your unresolved spiritual baggage? Write an example of this in your life.

On your own power, have you ever been able to truly stop being upset?
