The tongue body color provides a glimpse at blood health. Here is a pale tongue which indicates blood deficiency (anemia) especially when combined with related symptoms, such as fatigue.

If the tongue body color becomes purple, then there is a system circulatory issue. Purple correlates to poor blood flow. If we see it in the tongue, we know it is occurring systemically.

During the height of COVID, I was diagnosing and treating blood stasis with fantastic outcomes (before we knew that spike protein was causing circulation issues). This is because the tongue bodies were severely purple. Never in my career did I see tongues so purple. Most doctors no longer spend time on physical examinations.

For patients with tongue bodies that are both pale and purple, we see blood deficiency and blood stasis combined. Because this was such a common tongue in vaccinated patients, my assumption is that it is actually blood damage plus blood stasis. We also observed correlative blood dyscrasias in labs.

The tongue coating on a healthy tongue is minimal and not obvious to the untrained eye. When the coat becomes thicker, it is a sign that the flora of the gut is imbalanced and that bad flora has overgrown.

If the coating continues to thicken and becomes yellow, it will be associated with symptoms such as bloat, foul stool, sticky stool, bad breath, and yeast-like infections vaginally (vaginal health is influenced by gut health).

Since the tongue is the front of the digestive system, a swollen tongue body indicates a swollen intestinal system; they are directly related. If the tongue has teeth marks on the sides, it means it is so swollen that the tongue is pushing against the teeth.

A darker red tongue shows trouble in the hormone system. Think of the middle-aged female. As the sex hormones decline, there will be a drying up causing dry skin, dry eyes, dry hair, and vaginal dryness. This causes the tongue to become dark red and is associated with hot flashes (aka deficiency heat syndrome).
